Lucy with Wilma, Mona, Winston & Sybil

More about Lucy with Wilma, Mona, Winston & sYBIL

I am Lucy, who has always loved working dogs, but in particular, English Springer Spaniels. The love for working springers has been shared by my dad. My dad has always had English Springer Spaniels which he has always worked, so I grew up and fell in love with the breed.

We currently have 4 English Springers, 3 of which are mine and one, named Winston, who is a family dog.

For my 3 we have Wilma, Mona and Sybil. Wilma is 7 years old, gorgeous black and white springer that I adore. She will always hold a special place in my heart, being my first dog. Wilma soon became my world which is when I decided to get another, and along came Mona!

Mona is 4 years old, liver and white springer who is incredibly driven and a great working dog. She absolutely lives to train/work! Little Sybil is my recent addition, she is currently 4 months old and I’m hoping she will be a great hunter, and will join my girls primarily out in the picking up team, but I do also teach my girls to be great all rounders and regularly help with beating and dogging in also.

We have always used and loved Sporting Saint Products and we are so happy to work with them and be a brand ambassador for them. We are still learning but loving the journey along the way with the dogs.

Our favourite items from Sporting Saint

  • Rabbit balls – these are a great for getting them hunting, using as a reward, getting dogs keen to retrieve.
  • Winslow Training Vest – I absolutely couldn’t be without my vest! Super comfy, super practical and I recommend to anyone and everyone!
  • I’m sure the following are essential to most gundog handlers, ACME whistle!
  • Mini bird dummies – these are Wilma’s favourite and come out everytime Wilma is training as Wilma isn’t overly keen on dummies since she’s had the really thing, but these are a great weight and shape that she seems super keen on!
  • The Mallard Pro – super life like and great for ensuring your dog has the confidence to pick live game.
